Dear Mike and Nicole,

I always listen to your OPP on Tuesday mornings and hear you give such great advice, I never thought I would be writing you for my own, but here it goes.

I started a new job, my dream job, in July. One of my good friends has been there for two years and hooked me up with an interview after I was let go from my last job when they needed to downsize.

My friend and I have gotten a lot closer over the past few months because of working together now. We usually take our lunch breaks together and my husband and hers hit it off as well. We spend at least two weekends a month together.

There's a position that recently opened up that she has been waiting for. It's a huge step up, more money, a lot of perks and opportunity. I was so happy for her because I know how badly she has been wanting it. She has even said that there is no one else more qualified for that position and she will be so devastated and upset if she doesn't get it.

Our boss arranged a meeting with me on Friday and said that he wants ME in that position. I am so conflicted. He told me to think it over and I have until this Friday to decide. I haven't told my friend yet and I don't know what to do. Do I accept the position and pray that she understands, or do I turn down the position knowing that it will most likely go to her next?

Thank you in advance.
