We have had far too much tragedy in the Treasure Valley lately and now a man has died after falling from a popular rock climbing spot in east Boise.

The accident happened at about 4 p.m. at the Black Cliffs of off HWY 21.

Initial reports on KTVB say the adult male, whose identity has not yet been released to the public, fell about 40 feet after experiencing issues with his equipment.

Even though 911 calls were made very quickly and paramedics rushed to the scene, first aid and CPR was not enough and the man eventually succumbed to his injuries.

Crews will continue to gather information as to what exactly went wrong. We'll keep you updated as the identity of this man comes forth, but please keep everyone who knew him and loved him in your thoughts and prayers.
