The dreaded Pink Slip has been delivered to the famed Macy's Department Stores across the country and soon over 68 locations will close their doors. One store closing is pretty close to home.

Nampa's Gateway Macy's Department store recently was spared from the ax but the newest list has the Treasure Valley store on the cut list. The closings will happen later on this year. The Nampa store opened it's doors in 2009 and has almost 60 employees. The CEO of Macy's released a statement yesterday about the closings.

We continue to experience declining traffic in our stores where the majority of our business is still transacted, we are closing locations that are unproductive or are no longer robust shopping destinations due to changes in the local retail shopping landscape... These are never easy decisions. - Terry Lundgren CEO Macy's Department Stores

The closing of the Treasure Valley location is expected to happen around the middle of the year. So go out and support the people who are trying to make the best of the situation. For more on this story head on over to KTVB.COM.
