Lucky Peak’s South Shore Could Have Even More Recreational Opportunities
One of the best parts of calling the Treasure Valley home is our incredible recreation opportunities. Now, Lucky Peak could be getting even better with a trail expansion.
The proposed trail, on the south shore of the area, would add 15 new miles for those who want to hike or bike additional area. It would run from Lucky Peak Dam to Chimney Rock Park.
IT would be a single-track trail, designed for multiple uses including mountain biking, horseback riding, hiking, access for fishing, bird watching, and picnic access. The Army Corps of Engineers also says it could offer additional natural resource benefits.
The construction would be coordinated and funded by the Southwest Idaho Mountain Biking Association. They have proposed the project and lined up volunteer labor and equipment to be used for the project.
The proposal is in the comment phase, with residents of Idaho offered the chance to offer written comments and suggestions through July 28th.
