Idaho Ranks #1 in UFO Sightings Per Capita

It is officially on my Idaho bucket list to see a UFO while living in Idaho. We all know it's a recent hotspot for UFO sightings (you may have even noticed a flying saucer or two yourself) and now there's data to back it up! Idaho now ranks as the #1 state for UFO sightings per capita.

A study from SatelliteInternet took the number of UFO sightings that were reported in each state and how many sightings there were per 100,000 people to calculate the overall state rankings of where you’re most likely to spot a UFO. Idaho ranked at a number one with a total of 164 UFO sightings in 2020! The results also revealed the most UFO activity happens in the northern states with Montana, New Hampshire, and Maine to follow. The top 10 states with the most UFO sightings are listed below.

2. Montana
3. New Hampshire
4. Maine
5. New Mexico
6. Vermont
7. Wyoming
8. Hawaii
9. Washington
10. Connecticut

Texas, Louisiana , New York, Maryland, Illinois were the top 5 states with the least UFO sightings.

A lot of people have recently come to believe that aliens have in fact visited our planet at some point in time. For me, it was after the pentagon confirmed the existence of UFOs and a former Israeli space security chief said that earthlings have been in contact with extraterrestrials from a "galactic federation."

Surveys from Chapman University show that the belief in intelligent alien life is on the rise in recent years. In 2016, only 27% of Americans believed that aliens have visited our planet at some point in the ancient past. In 2020, an independent poll by Ipsos showed that 45% of Americans said that UFOs exist and have visited Earth.
