A lot of businesses are struggling due to effects of the Coronavirus, and the potato industry is no different. Instead of throwing away their crops, one Idaho farm is giving them away.

According to KTVB, Cranney Farms in Oakley, Idaho has thousands of potatoes they were hoping to sell, but because of the Coronavirus and restaurants closing, they didn't sell. So they had two choices, dump their potato crops, or give potatoes away, and they did just that.

This disaster left the farm with about half of their crop for this year unsold. They're looking at what they'll need next year and plan to significantly decrease their crops so this doesn't happen again. In the mean time, they've gotten some awareness for their farm as people are driving for hours to go grab free potatoes. They're about 175 miles from Boise so if you want some free potatoes OR just an excuse to get out of the house this weekend, enjoy the drive!
