Former Eagle High School Coach and Teacher Arrested on Sex Charges

This news is always particularly disturbing. A former high school teacher and boys basketball coach has been arrested on charges of rape, sexual battery of a minor, and sexual exploitation of a minor. 

32-year-old Jeff Ranstrom taught social studies at Eagle High School. He resigned on September 23rd.

According to the Ada County Sheriffs Office, Jeff Ranstrom had a "lengthy sexual relationship" with a 17-year-old girl. Investigators believe Ranstrom and the girl had illegal sexual contact dozens of times between March and August of this year.

KTVB says Ranstrom is currently sitting in the Ada County Jail and he will make his first court appearance today.
