I have a 13-year-old, and this absolutely disgusts me. It's hard to come to grips with the fact that things happen like this in our seemingly peaceful little community. It's the shocking truth that parents need to be aware of. Bad things can and do happen.

According to KTVB, 31-year-old Jamie Galvan of Caldwell is sitting in the Canyon County Jail on a $500,000 bond on charges of rape and lewd conduct towards a 14-year-old girl.

Galvan and his wife lived in the same home as the 14-year-old girl and her family.

The teenager told investigators that she and Galvan were making plans "because it was Friday night."

He suggested they "do something crazy like stay up all night and drink."

The incident led to Galvan taking advantage of and allegedly raping the young girl. She told investigators that she told Galvan to stop but he didn't listen.

The teenager said during the incident she started crying loudly and it prompted her brother to get their mother's attention.

The police were then called to the residence at about 4 a.m.

The incident originally happened on October 18, 2019 and his preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 17th.
