Extra $600 Unemployment Benefits Set to End Early

If you are part of the millions of Americans on unemployment right now you know how beneficial the extra $600 a week has been during the COVID-19 pandemic, well turns out that benefit is going to end earlier than people expected. 

The $600 a week unemployment benefit is set to end July 31, 2020, but what most people don't know is that most states will only pay it through July 25th and you'll have to go back to the average $370 a week benefits. I don't know about you, but that doesn't even begin to cover my expenses, and if I lost my job I would be in trouble within a month. From talking to people I know, not many are pre-pared to be unemployed for any length of time and the results are devastating.

According to an article on msn.com, the confusion comes in the fine print. Unemployment benefits are paid by states on a weekly or biweekly basis with a defined end date on Saturday.

This also puts more pressure on Congress in July to figure out another possible coronavirus emergency package.
