Caldwell Police Called Me at 9:30 P.M. on Sunday Night

Getting up at 3:30 a.m. each morning can be a struggle, but even more of a struggle when I get an unexpected call from the Caldwell Police Department. Having no idea what number was calling me after my bedtime, I was debating whether I was going to answer the call or not.

I figured it was probably important being that it was so late I decided to answer the phone. I was half asleep as I was just dosing off and while I didn’t understand the first few words I remember vividly that he said he was with the Caldwell Police Department. I woke up instantly, not sure what he was going to say next.

I knew that my wife was lying next to me and my two dogs Koda and Gypsy were in our room so I knew that no one was injured. It was then that I was informed this was in regards to a ride-along I requested months ago. THANK GOD it wasn’t something more than that.

My ride along with the Nampa Police Department was amazing and they actually told me to do more of them to find out more about the community, that is why I signed up again. But it had been so long I completely forgot about it. I’m not positive if I will be able to ride along with the Caldwell Police because they want to make it happen during the night shift during the week, which is difficult given my job. Hopefully we can make it work but even if we don’t at least the phone call was only about a ride-along and nothing worse!
