Breaking News: Resource Officer Shoots and Kills Gunman in School Shooting

This is breaking news that happened a few hours ago as school was about to begin in Great Mills high school in Maryland...this is what we know so far.

 A lone gunman who shot and wounded two students at the High School in Maryland was also shot and killed Tuesday morning, after engaging with an armed school resource officer.

The shooter was the lone fatality. A female student was reported as being critically injured and a male student was also shot but is now reported to be in stable condition at a local hospital.

According to an article that first appeared on Fox.com school officials said: "Our school resource officer was alerted to the event. he pursued the shooter, engaged the shooter, fired a round at the shooter," In the article, St. Mary's County Sheriff Tim Cameron said: "The shooter fired a round as well. In the hours and days to come, we'll be able to determine if our school resource officer's round struck the shooter."
