Boise State’s MASSIVE Upgrade Is Set To Amaze This Weekend
If you think Boise State football games are amazing already, you're going to get your socks knocked off this weekend at the annual spring game.
Our beloved Boise State Broncos will play in their annual spring game on Saturday (4/8) at Albertsons Stadium. According to BroncoSports.com, parking lots open at 11 AM with gates opening at 12:30 PM, and kickoff at 1:30 PM.
Admission is free and fans in attendance will be in for a monumental milestone in Boise State history.
A new era for Albertsons Stadium
Albertsons Stadium is already known for being one of the toughest stadiums for opponents of Boise State to compete, but now it's about to get a massive upgrade.
Fans in attendance for the annual spring game on Saturday will get to witness the debut of a new Bronco staple - a massive 120' by 50' jumbotron that measures 6,000 square feet.
That's right - 6,000.
We spoke to Cody Gougler, Senior Associate Athletic Director, External Affairs of Boise State Athletics. He shared that the jumbotron is "by far one of the largest in the Mountain West Conference" and "one of the top twenty-five boards in the country at this point."
Cody also added that it's up to Bronco fans to name the new board.
"Not sure what we're going to call it just yet, we'll let Bronco Nation figure out what they want to call it," Gougler shared. "Right now the 'Melaleuca Board' is kind of what we're referencing it as obviously with the gift."
Gougler calls it 'Melaleuca Board' in reference to the massive donation Boise State received that made the addition possible.
Now, whether you call it a video board, lighthouse, or jumbotron, the massive upgrade is sure to amplify the energy that gives our Broncos a home-field advantage.
