Boise Movie Prices Hit a Record High
The cost of a movie ticket varies of course, depending on the time of day that you go and whether it's showing on a premium screen like an IMAX. But overall, the price to see a flick is going up at Edwards Boise 22 and Village Cinema in Meridian.
Here's how much cash you should have in your wallet for that movie date this weekend.
The average cost of a movie ticket is $8.73 now, which is up just a smidge from $8.70 last year.
The biggest things that are causing the average ticket price to rise are the premium screenings like 3D and IMAX. Those have a built-in increase of a buck or two compared to the standard showings, and that pushes up the average price.
Ok, solution! Can we get rid of 3D? The glasses never fit comfortably and the kids won't keep them on for the whole movie, and we all end up getting headaches because of the eye strain. Movies seem fine without the characters flying into our laps. But I digress.
Ghostbusters, Finding Dory, The Secret Life of Pets, Ice Age: Collision Course, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, and Star Trek Beyond will all be out there this weekend competing for your eight bucks.
Oh, and don't forget your popcorn money. It's not just the cost of the ticket that seems to be going up all the time.
