Big Sky Move For Idaho Vandal Football Approved
After weeks of will they or wont they go..it's Official now. The Idaho Vandal Football program will compete in the Big Sky Conference starting in the 2018 season.
The Idaho State Board of Education voted and approved this week that ALL sports will be covered under the Big Sky Conference umbrella. This comes on the heels of conversations that at the end of Vandal football's contract ending with the Sun Belt conference. Idaho already has multiple athletics competing in the Big Sky, this will now include the football team.
The price tag of the move will total close to 6 million dollars annually to compete in the FBS. As a Vandal Alumni I couldn't be more excited this. Hopefully the days of Idaho glory will return. Idaho was part of the Big Sky Conference from 1965 to 1995 racking in 9 conference titles. Now the only thing that needs to return is the annual BSU Idaho football game. Talk about Rivalry..this was one of the best in college ball. - JD
