Boise’s B ‘Arc & Brew Craft Beer Festival Happens This Weekend
This Saturday, September 23rd dogs are encouraged to bring their people to Idaho's largest dog friendly craft beer festival for live music, craft beers, food and fun to benefit the Arc.
There will be great food, music and craft beers all supporting the Arc. Your dogs will love it too!
The event kicks off at 12 p.m. at the parking lot of Highlands Hollow Brewhouse at 2455 Harrison Hollow Blvd in Boise.
Attendees can sample great beers from Highlands Hollow, Payette, County Line, Boise Brewing, Meriwethers Cider, Mad Swede, Woodland Empire Ale Craft, Lagunitas, and Ninkasi breweries.
There will also be dog related vendors and a dog parade and costume contest too, so your dog won’t feel left out. If you don’t already have a dog, the Idaho Humane Society will be on location with dogs available for adoption.
Silent auction items have been donated and will be available for bid with proceeds going to the Arc. Food will be provided by Highlands Hollow Brewhouse.
Live music starts at Noon withEmily Tipton, Critter Soup, Bernie Reilly, Christine Thomas and Larry Kiser, Deborah Michels Gang, Great Bait, Lonesome Jetboat Ramblers, and Bread and Circus.
The Dog parade and costume contest start at 3:00 p.m.
For just $15.00, you get a tasting mug and 8 tickets. Proceeds benefit employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
The Arc is a private non-profit that is committed to providing greater levels of independence for Idahoans with intellectual and developmental disabilities in how they learn, live, work and play. For over fifty years The Arc has been empowering people with I/DD to be fully included and actively participating in building a stronger community by creating opportunities for education, employment, housing and recreating.
Why are dogs a part of this festival? Because dogs are an important part of some of the things that The Arc does. Plus B’Arc is an all-natural dog biscuit that is made at The Arc facilities. B’Arc bones are made, marketed, and sold by people with disabilities. Some participants regularly volunteer at the Idaho Humane Society and other animal related organizations. B’Arc bones are sold at the Idaho Humane Society. Proceeds from B’Arc & Brew will go directly to expansion of the B’Arc Bone business and support job opportunities for the people we serve.
