Another phone scam has made its way back to the Treasure Valley.

Calls have been reported in the Boise area and some people are reporting receiving calls from the following number: (208) 391-5870. The caller claims to be a deputy marshal, and demands they post bond for failing to show up for jury duty.

The U.S. Attorney wants everyone to know that officers do not notify people of arrest warrants by telephone. A valid arrest warrant would be served in person by a Deputy U.S. Marshal or other law enforcement officer.  Persons receiving such a telephone call are cautioned not to provide any information, to hang up, and to notify the U.S. Marshals Service immediately.
