Ada County leaders have declared October, "Domestic Violence Awareness Month."
Domestic abuse is a big issue in Ada County. Statistically, paramedics respond to at least one battery call every day.

The hope is that October will be a month full of raising awareness, educating our community and having public conversations about domestic violence. It doesn't mean that we should only focus our efforts during one month out of a year, but that it will reach more people that can help make a difference.

The statistics alone are hard to swallow. One in three women and one in four men in the U.S. have experienced some form of domestic violence.
