In just one day, more than $30,000 has been raised for a Boise police officer involved in a shooting who is said to have significant injuries and will need long term medical care.

It was the shooting we talked about on Friday that involved two officers, a police dog, and the suspect of a double shooting and a carjacking of an 89 year old woman. The other officer has been released from the hospital, the suspect is dead, and the dog had surgery and lost a lung, but is expected to recover.

A GoFundMe page was set up on Saturday for the officer, who has not yet been identified.

Donations are also being accepted at Mountain West Bank branches and the Fraternal Order of Police.
