WWE Superstar May Have Accidentally Dropped A Big Secret In Boise
WWE made its much-awaited return to the Treasure Valley last weekend, and while most may not have picked up on it, something was said that made us all think that something bigger may be soon coming to Boise for WWE fans.
Sunday's event was held at ExtraMile Arena, where the card was absolutely stacked with WWE star power. The last time the pro wrestling giant came through, they brought the then Universal Champion Roman Reigns and his cousins, The Usos. This year's event also had major figures.
The main event featured WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins defending his title against international star Shinsuke Nakamura. Other participants included NXT Women's Champion Becky Lynch, Asuka, Jey Uso, Bronson Reed, United States Champion and WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio, Autin Theory, Intercontinental Champion Gunther, The Judgement Day including Finn Balor, Damien Priest and Dominik Mysterio, and prominent names like LA Knight and Cody Rhodes.
While no titles may have changed hands, the crowd was into everything the performers were doing inside and outside the ring. The crowd was so into it that The American Nightmare, Cody Rhodes may have teased an announcement that wasn't quite ready to be shared.
After his match, Cody Rhodes told the Boise crowd that with a crowd like this, Boise deserved to have a Monday Night Raw sometime soon. Having a Monday Night Raw live from Boise is a significant win for Boise fans of WWE because it brings the best of the talent roster to see in person and includes pyro and pivotal points in the current storylines. As quickly as he said it, Cody Rhodes tried to walk it back by saying that it would happen if "it were up to him" but that he "had no juice."
Having a Monday Night Raw originate from Boise is also an excellent showcase for the city of Boise itself and could bring significant revenue from traveling fans of the program.
While we aren't sure how realistic it would be for WWE to bring Raw to Boise, they have certainly played in smaller venues in smaller cities.
