What to Expect for This Year’s Meridian Dairy Days

The first ever Dairy Show in Meridian was held on June 18th way back in 1929 to celebrate the opening of the Meridian Creamery. Fast forward almost one hundred years later and the festival has grown into the beloved Meridian Dairy Days. Like many many other things, Meridian Dairy Days was cancelled last year but it's back in full swing for 2021. Here's what to expect.

This year the 4-day event kicks off the Princess Pageant on Wednesday June 23rd. The festival lasts until Saturday June 26th. The fun continues Thursday with carnival rides and food vendors opening in the evening.

The main event of the dairy goat and dairy cattle shows will start bright and early on Friday morning along with the first annual Keith Bird Memorial golf tournament teeing off at 9 am. Start putting your team together now for the corn hole and volleyball tournaments happening on Friday as well. The day concludes with Races at the Speedway.

Saturday morning is the 1 mile Dairy Fun Run. There will also be lots of different musical acts throughout the day. Perhaps the most looked forward to event is the Meridian Dairy Days Parade which starts at 6pm and is followed by a fireworks to conclude the festival.

Applications for the Princess Pageant and food/vendors are closed however applications are still being accepted for the parade and dairy shows. Applications to be a part of the parade must be submitted no later than June 16th. You have until June 22nd to submit one for the dairy cattle and dairy goat shows.
