Boise, Idaho. Idahoans are fine folks with a lot to say. We're unapologetically opinionated and proud to be so. This is never truer than when an entity, an authority, or a Joe Shmoe tells us how to run our lives or, our cars.
On Dec. 22, an article shared by KTVB7 caused quite the stir in the comments section on the news outlet's Facebook page. After reading the piece, our team failed to see the controversy others found.
In most instances, we consider ourselves to be something of a cross-section in the Treasure Valley community. Our views typically run parallel to local opinion on lifestyle, family, finance, and even real estate. But because we know nothing of car mechanics, we'll refrain from voicing our opinion in favor of sharing Boise's.
Friend or Foe?
Yes, Warming Up Your Car Before Driving in Cold Weather Can Damage the Engine reads like an attempt at friendly advice to us, but to some, not so much.
From going after the article's sources to criticizing the author's nerve to broach the "sensitive" subject in the first place, the the thread was on fire with more than 400 comments. It also garnered 163 shares and 531 reactions.
