First off, I must admit that this was the first time I've actually ever seen the 1984 film, 'Nightmare on Elm Street.' There are some movies you hear about your entire life and then one day realize you've never seen. I knew that Freddy Krueger was a thing, I just hadn't actually seen this movie before. Anyway, In the movie, the character that plays Johnny Depp's character's love interest is Nancy Thompson. Nancy's mom turns out to be a bit crazy herself, though she isn't the villain of the movie, obviously. Her mom, Marge Thompson, is played by an actress you may or may not have ever heard of named Ronee Blakley.

Ronee Blakley was born in 1945, right here in Nampa, Idaho. She went on to star in several movies, she directed, produced, worked on soundtracks, she was a composer, the works. she also performed the song, "My Idaho Home" for the movie, 'Nashville'. She's actually had quite the career and has been attached to some pretty incredibly successful projects. Cool to see such an interesting Hollywood success story that started right here in the Treasure Valley when she was born back in 1945. Enjoy the song, "My Idaho Home", and see if you can feel similar vibes to YOUR Idaho home. What a great career she's had... Congrats, Ronee Blakley!
