Utah Jazz Player Stars In New Adam Sandler Movie
Utah Jazz Power Forward Juancho Hernangómez made his acting debut in Adam Sandler's new basketball movie, Hustle.
The movie is about a down on his luck NBA scout (Sandler) who finds an extraordinary player (Hernangómez) overseas and brings him back to the States, without his team's approval. The scout fights to do all he can to get the player a chance to enter the league.
The movie was Hernangómez's acting debut and he is very impressive! If you weren't familiar with the NBA, you'd think he was an actor playing a part. I'm usually skeptical and can tell when someone is a bad actor. We see it all the time when athletes appear in movies. Not naming any names. However, Hernangómez is a star. If basketball doesn't pan out he has a career in Hollywood...playing basketball players. While his acting was great, I am aware that the role was a basketball player, which he is. One would think not much acting is involved. But, it's a dramatic movie. Hernangómez had some emotional lines, and he delivered them believably. Very proud of him.
On the court, the Spanish forward has been a bit of a journeyman. Starting his NBA career in Denver before playing for Minnesota, Boston, San Antonio, and now the Jazz. He came to Utah as a part of a three-team trade in February of 2022. His older brother Willy Hernangómez plays for the New Orleans Pelicans in the NBA.
I'm excited to watch his career develop on and off the court. The movie definitely made me like him more and I look forward to seeing what happens in his future. Finally, the Jazz have a positive storyline. For more looks at the movie and the trailer, keep scrolling below.
