This Might Be The Most Charitable Restaurant in the Treasure Valley
They've got four locations, and they've very quietly raised well over six figures for several different charities just by offering the chance to drop a couple of bucks in a jar while you're ordering pancakes. Tuesday is one of the biggest impact days.
The Griddle has locations in Meridian, Eagle, Boise, and Nampa, and it's become a go-to breakfast and lunch spot for a lot of regulars. Those regulars might be the ones that are boosting the totals for charity the most, but any customers who pop in on Tuesdays and Sundays have the chance to contribute.
Each month The Griddle picks a different charity, and servers donate money and there are table tents set up with more information on how to make a difference. KTVB says this month's charity is JDRF and children's diabetes.
The Griddle has donated over $150,000 to charity over the past few years, and it's not just customers and servers doing the work. The total includes some of the company's monthly profits too.
The pancake, waffle, and crepe craving can strike at any time, and the next time it does it's nice to know we have an extra good reason for satisfying it. Wolfing down The Griddle's famous Waffle Affogato with a scoop of old fashioned ice cream and drizzled with homemade espresso caramel sauce just got real! It's not just about us. We're doing it for charity.
Most locations are serving breakfast and lunch from 7am to 2pm, and the Boise location is open a little longer - from 6:30am to 2:30pm Monday through Sunday if you want to check it out.
