There have been an unfortunate number of apartment fires in the Treasure Valley this year. One Boise apartment complex burned and displaced several families right around Christmas, which was devastating. Those families were all helped from the local Fire Department’s “Burnout Fund”. Money is set aside to help people who need it. I can't even imagine all of my memories and irreplaceable items just gone with no idea of what to do next!

The Nampa Fire Department is hosting a fund raiser this Friday, July 14 to help build up their burnout fund. They are hosting a special BBQ in downtown Nampa (13th Ave. South) from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

A suggested donation of $10 gets you a plate of BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich, coleslaw, beans, beverage & dessert bar. Beer, wine, and drinks will be available for purchase. They’ll also have a fire truck on display, live music from Soul Patch, and special games for the kids!

The event is also hosted by Stampede Community Festival and Gold Buckle Champion.
