Plane Crashes into House at Idaho / Utah Boarder

Late Saturday night there was a loud crash heard in North Logan Utah, just 15 miles south of the Idaho border. According to the Idaho Press, A small airplane crashed into a thankfully unoccupied house at about 8:30pm. The airplane was a two-seat SeaRey LSX a small airplane that according to the National Transportation Board an amphibian kit plane.

Unfortunately the pilot did not survive the crash and his name has not yet been released. North Park Police have confirmed that the plane's sole occupant was dead when first responders arrived. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the cause of the crash. The plane went into the house just a few mile east of the Logan-Cache Airport. It is still not known if the plane had just taken off or was trying to land back at the airport when something went wrong and the plane crashed.

The plane was completely (other than just the tail) was fully inside the home, it went right through the roof of the two story house. According to the Idaho State Journal, Responders worked at the scene for hours after the crash. A medical examiner was called to the scene, and firefighters have been in contact with the National Transportation Safety Board, which investigates plane crashes, to properly document the site before the aircraft is removed.

We have not heard from the homeowners yet either. Thank goodness again that no one was home when the impact happened. Where they just at work for the day when the plane crashed or are they out on vacation with a very interesting situation to come home from? Could you imagine going home to find a plane in your house?
