Two men were flying from Caldwell to eastern Oregon when they took a nose dive and crashed in a hay field next to Lindley Road and I-84.  The crash was fatal and the identities of both men have been kept confidential until law enforcement can properly notify their family and close friends.

KTVB reports that it was a single-engine airplane.  A Mooney M20K, manufactured in 1979.  The plane was registered to a Canyon County business.

The Baker City Fire Department, Baker Rural Fire Department, Baker City Police Department, and Oregon State Police, the Baker County Sheriff's Office all assisted with search and rescue and are all currently working with the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board in the investigation.
