Learning CPR is a life skill that everyone should learn just in case you have to step in and help someone. You would always want someone to step in and help your family member in an emergency, that's why it's tremendous to hear that many Nampa middle school students are learning that skill.

This past weekend the at the Nampa Recreation Center for kids ages 11-14 there was a junior lifeguard boot camp that took place. KIVI first covered the story and informed us that while the students were too young for formal lifeguard certification, they still left the boot camp CPR and first aid certified.

The four-day boot camp also taught kids to work together in stressful situations, which can often be difficult to remember. While the kids are still young, there skills are so important no matter what your age is.

If you want to learn about upcoming events like the junior lifeguard boot camp keep an eye on the Nampa Parks & Recreation community calendar.
