Major Amusement Park Just 5 Hours From Boise, My First Trip to Lagoon
I just had my first trip ever to Lagoon Amusement Park in Utah. It is about a 5 hour drive from Boise and totally worth it. The park originally opened in 1886 according to the history section on the Lagoon website! Back then it was called Lake Park and got it's name Lagoon a few years later in 1899. That is also when it added it's first 'thrill ride.' Since then lots of changes, advancements and development has gone into the park making it the best amusement park for hundreds of miles around.
In the fall the park transforms into Frightmares, a fun and spooky place that is sure to get your heart pumping. All of the same favorite rides for thrill seekers along with haunted characters walking the park, scary attractions and haunted houses and rides. There are lots of fun photo ops with hundreds of jack-o-lanterns and fall and Halloween decorations throughout the park.
It was the first time for myself and my 8 year old son Titus and what a time we had. From roller coasters to rides, to games to shows there was never a dull moment. One of my other favorite things about the park. You can bring your own drinks, snacks and food in. That is pretty rare with places like this who want you to have to buy food and drinks from their vendors. We are keeping our fingers crossed it stays this way at Lagoon. The friends we went with were Lagoon experts so we all came prepared and hardly had to buy anything at the park.
If you have been needing an exciting trip that doesn't need airplane travel to get there, I would highly recommend checking out Lagoon. So fun for all ages. They do close after Halloween and remain closed until summer season when they have a massive water park open as well as the regular attractions.
