While this writer can't speak for every single Townsquare Media employee, let me say this:

Teachers are grossly underpaid. This story does not change that at all. They deserve a significant pay increase across the board.

Ok. Sorry for yelling. Anyways. Here's the story.

Idaho teachers are being paid more in 2026. Here's proof.

Math seems pretty teacher-appropriate, so let's use that. Compared to the 2024-2025 school year, Idaho teachers on average are making about 5.3% more this year. For the numbers nerds, that's around $66,085 per year. Again, on average.

What's interesting is how much an Idaho teacher makes very much depends on where they're teacher. Educating young people in Boise? Expect to land almost $80,000 every year. Nampa? Yeah, you're literally making $20,000 less if you teach there.

While the recent 5% increase is nice, it's about half of the increase that occurred between 2022-2023 and 2023-2024. That was almost a 10% salary increase across the board. Yes, teachers are making more, but how much more they're making year over year is decreasing rapidly.

Again, teachers deserve to be paid more.

Are Idaho teachers overworked? Most definitely. We'd venture to say that all teachers are overworked. But, who has it the worst?

Here's a list of the states with the most overworked teachers. Overworked, and again, grossly underpaid. Just wanted to make sure we really drive that point home.
