If you're a fan of first-person-shooter video games, you probably already know that Battlefield 6 is the new big kid on the block. For years and years, Call of Duty was the franchise that lead the pack, but as of late 2025, the new Battlefield 6 seems to be the place gamers are drifting towards.

So, imagine the disappointment when Electronic Arts and Battlefield Studios announced their major update for Season 2 of the game has been delayed. By a lot.

So, when's the new Battlefield 6 update dropping? What gives?

The team wanted to put "more polish" on the Season 2 additions, so it's being delayed by an entire month. February 17th is when you can expect Season 2 to begin in-game.

What's coming in Season 2 of Battlefield 6, you ask? Lots, actually! Including:

  • New maps
  • New game modes
  • Additions to the battlepass
  • & more

In the meantime, if you end up in the same lobby as this writer, please refrain from those no-scope headshots from across the map. It's so embarrassing for me!

If you're into Battlefield for more than just the moment-to-moment action, and you find yourself interested more in the history behind the game, you'll enjoy this.

Here's a look at 25 historic battlefields from historic moments in history, and what they look like today. Some of them look similar, others you can barely tell it's the same location:

LOOK: What 25 Historic Battlefields Look Like Today

The following is an examination of what became of the sites where America waged its most important and often most brutal campaigns of war. Using a variety of sources, Stacker selected 25 historically significant battlefields in American history. For each one, Stacker investigated what happened there when the battles raged as well as what became of those hallowed grounds when the fighting stopped.

These are the battlefields that defined the United States military’s journey from upstart Colonial rebels to an invincible global war machine.
