Idaho Gets Skipped Over for a State-Based Candy Bar
Hershey's has picked a few states to highlight with its new PayDay candy bars, and Idaho is not one of them. That may be a good thing actually. Can you mix caramel and barbecue flavor and be happy about it?
The new Texas-flavored creation by PayDay is one of six new candy bars that highlight the best or most distinct flavors in each state, and the choice for Texas includes barbecue. The Flavor of Texas BBQ Payday Bar has barbecue-coated peanuts inside, mixed in with the caramel ribbons.
Here are the other states that get a little love from Hershey's:
Florida’s Twizzler Key Lime Pie Flavored Twists
Hawaii’s Hershey’s Kisses Coconut Almond Flavored Candies
California's Kit Kat Strawberry Flavored Candy
Georgia's Honey Roasted Reese's Peanut Butter Cups
New York's Cherry Cheesecake Hershey's Bar
They're all out in stores across the country now, so if you try them let us know what you think.
Idaho already has a state-centered candy bar anyway, right? The Idaho Spud Company has been cranking out the Owyhee Idaho Spud since 1918, with the " a light cocoa flavored, soft marshmallow center drenched with a dark chocolate coating and then sprinkled with coconut." We don't need any crazy barbecue-drenched peanuts to make that good. We'll take Idaho any day.
