Fundraiser to Modify a Motorcycle for Paralyzed Boise Police Officer
Officer Holtry, the Boise police officer who was seriously injured in the line of duty last year when he was shot multiple times while searching for a wanted suspect on the Boise Bench, is now paralyzed from the waist down. His left leg had to be amputated above the knee as well.
He spent two months at a hospital in Denver where they specialize in traumatic spinal cord injuries. He went through intensive rehabilitation and just got back to Boise earlier this month.
There’s a unique fundraising effort for Officer Holtry going on right now. High Desert Harley-Davidson in Meridian set up a GoFundMe page with the goal of retrofitting a Tri-Glide Ultra Trike for him. The motorcycle needs to be modified so he can control it with his hands and arms. They will have to modify it for him to get on and off the bike easily and safely, and create a way to carry his wheelchair with him.
