Enjoy a Shamrock Shake and Support Ronald McDonald House Charities

Last month, I told you the exciting news about the addition of new flavors of the popular Shamrock Shake from McDonald's!

Next week, not only can you enjoy one of these magnificent creations, but when you do, you will be supporting the Ronald McDonald House Charities & Chocolate Shamrock Beverages Fundraiser!

During the week of March 11 - 17, for every Shamrock beverage sold, 25 cents will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House Charities! There's a heartwarming legacy behind Shamrock Shakes and RMHC. In 1974, sales of the Shamrock Shakes helped to create and open the very first Ronald McDonald House!

Did you know that we have a Ronald McDonald House right here in Boise? If you did, do you know what they actually do for families? I only came to understand what they do a couple of years ago and I was so impressed and drawn to their cause that my family donates to them regularly. The Ronald McDonald House helps families whose children are facing medical situations. Whether they have a serious illness or injury, families can stay there for little to no cost. It's hard enough when you have a child that needs special care, but when you have to travel hundreds or thousands of miles away to get that exceptional care, the financial burden can be overwhelming. The last thing you should be thinking about, is where your family will sleep or shower.

Families staying at the Ronald McDonald House can also expect:

• Home-cooked meals
• Laundry facilities
• 17 bedrooms with private bathrooms
• Indoor and outdoor playrooms for children
• Recreational activities (e.g., passes to the Zoo, YMCA, Aquarium, Discovery Center, etc.)
