Elf Gone Wild!

It is not as simple as you think to dress up as an elf these days! Or I should say, it's not as simple to dress up as an elf that is not the "naughty elf!" Mike and I dress up as elves each year and deliver stockings to the children at St. Luke's Children's Hospital. We ordered our costumes online and Mike now looks like a court jester in red and green. I scored and got a cute pink and white elf costume but it was very short, and that is saying a lot since I am so short! I always wore thick tights and boy shorts underneath but it was still uncomfortable for me! I was always pulling it down. Last year after our visit, I threw it away. I was going to get an appropriate elf costume that didn't show so much. A Children's Hospital is not a place for Skin To Win!! Plus the hospital said they had received some complaints from parents about how inappropriate my outfit was. O-my mother would be so proud! I thought I would just go online and order a new costume. That is easier said then done. There are no "appropriate" elf costumes. There are tons of naughty elves costumes! Cleavage, thigh highs, belly baring tops, short shorts and more. The only option this elf had was to piece together my own elf costume. I bought the top at Target, got the suspenders at Hastings, the elf hat came from the Dollar Store, the green leggings I wear under my ski pants to keep me warm. I ordered the tutu and the stockings off Amazon. No problem with the tutu but the stockings I got were HOT PINK! Not what I ordered and they arrived yesterday so not time for a return. So I was on a mission yesterday to find red and white stockings and found these Christmas tree socks at Shopko.  What a fiasco! So here is my outfit. I don't think I will look anything like an elf but at least I won't be traumatizing the parents that already have enough on their plate with a kid in the hospital! I will make sure to post a picture after our delivery today. Be kind in your reviews. Know my intention is good. I just want to put a smile on a child's face, not to look like a gypsy elf who fell off a shelf!
