It's a tree lighting that benefits the Boise homeless population, and there's a unique way that we can all contribute to this special tree.

This is more than just showing up to watch the lights flicker on.  We can take an ornament to put on the tree that reflects something personal to us, and be reminded that not everyone is enjoying an overflow of gifts, food, and holiday cheer this week.

Bad weather got in the way once, but Interfaith Sanctuary says its rescheduled tree lighting will be on Christmas eve, December 24th in the backyard of the homeless shelter.

We can all take an ornament to add to the tree to reflect our own faith traditions, and by doing that the shelter says we're showing all faiths can work together toward the common goal of helping the homeless get on their feet, and stay warm in the meantime.

Saturday should be sunny and in the 20s, and in the teens at night.  Being out in the cold for the tree lighting might help us all realize how great we have it, and it might be a great way to experience meaning that's deeper than a Fit Bit and a Hatchimal this season.  Happy holidays.
