Disgusted and shocked are the first two words that come to mind when hearing about a daycare facility in Meridian that was shut down two weeks ago. According to KTVB, The Healthy Beginnings Childcare in Meridian was closed after multiple investigations showed the daycare didn't maintain proper childcare facility standards.

The violations included finding rodent feces in the kitchen pantry and uncovered electrical outlets in the indoor playroom. Other violations include employees caring for too many children at one time, lacking the credentials necessary to operate a facility, or not having a background check on file with the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare.

The investigations against the daycare facility took place on June 6, June 21, July 22, August 27 and August 29 the suspension and license was removed from the business on August 30.

There are even more disturbing violations that include a child vomiting and not being taken away from other children. Or the fact that there was a minor supervising children without an adult present.

This is so alarming for any parent that has a kid in daycare. The Department of Health and Welfare says the owner, Kathleen Lawrence, cannot operate a childcare facility for the next five years.
