That's right, you'll be able to fly non-stop from Boise to New York City beginning this summer, but it isn't for the faint of heart, there's a catch...

Jet Blue airlines and the Boise Airport made the announcement earlier today; beginning July 2nd, 2021, you'll be able to fly nonstop to John F. Kennedy Airport in New York and back but with one slight inconvenience, you'll have to fly in the middle of the night. The flight is only seasonal as of right now but will run Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, leaving Boise at 11:55 p.m. and arriving in New York at 6:30 a.m. The return flight will run from 7:15 p.m. to 11:01 pm so definitely not as bad.

I'm down! New York is an incredible city and Jet Blue is a great airline. Plus, what's traveling without a bit of adventure? Where's your Spirit?! See what I did there? Anyway, according to Boise Airport's press release:

“JetBlue is an established and well-respected company, we are thrilled to welcome the airline to Boise and build a strong partnership together,” said Boise Airport Director Rebecca Hupp. “Nonstop service to New York City is something our community has been asking for, and it has been a goal of mine for several years. I’m very optimistic that this route will be successful for JetBlue and our travelers.”

Also, that our airport now has eight airlines that provide nonstop trips to and from twenty-three destinations. After the Covid-19 pandemic starts to slow, I'm sure many Idahoans will be ready to get out of the house and see the world and it's nice to know there are so many great options!
