Back to school season is here. Can you believe it?! Where did the summer go??

Shopping for school supplies can be a struggle for anyone these days. Those lists seem to get longer and longer every year.

A group of Treasure Valley students got a little bit of help with their supplies shopping from local police.

Over 40 kids paired up with Police Officers from Canyon County to shop for back to school essentials, like backpacks, notebooks, even new clothes.

The money was donated to the Fraternal Order of Police by community members and local businesses, giving them each about $150 to use!

This is the third year they’ve hosted the shopping spree for local kiddos, which not only helps kids get ready for school, but also helps the relationship between police and the community, while giving families going through hard times one less thing to worry about. Which, let's face it, can be overwhelming in itself.

Police in Canyon County plan to hold another shopping spree for kids in need again close to Christmas. If you want to help donate to the fund, please click HERE.
