We live in a pretty cool part of Idaho where a trip to one of two drive-in movie theaters isn't all that far away.  One of them opened for the 2019 season in late March.  The other? It's been a bit of a mystery.

When Parma Motor-Vu announced their opening dates, we immediately started to look if Caldwell's Terrace Drive-In was opening the same weekend or somewhere within the same time frame.  Instead of finding an answer, we found a big question mark.  The link to their website was broken and showed a "Page Not Found" error.  Jill G., one of our listeners, let us know that their Facebook page had been deleted as well. Several other said that their had been a death in the family who owned/operated the theater and the family wasn't sure if they wanted to continue operating it.

Just when it looked like there would be no drive-in movies in Caldwell this year, a new website for the Terrace Drive-In appeared and announced that they would indeed be open this year.  In fact, they showed Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse and Breakthrough over the weekend.

While the list of movies for this week hasn't been posted yet, we know that they're playing on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays throughout the warm weather months.  The theater has also made improvements to show movies in a full digital experience with enhanced 4K resolution.

Ticket prices for the year are as follows:

  • Adults: $8
  • Seniors: $7
  • Kids: 5-11: $3
  • Children under 4: FREE
