The Treasure Valley has been growing immensely in the past few years, bringing about some incredible new restaurants, breweries, and wineries. Looks like the rest of the world is starting to realize just how amazing the Sunnyslope wine region in Caldwell really is.

Even though I'm not the biggest wine drinker, my wife loves the stuff. I am always excited to find her a new favorite from our region. It seems like a lot of other people are catching on to the Idaho wine trend lately, too.

Recently Travel + Leisure Magazine recognized Caldwell, Idaho as having "some of the most surprisingly tasty wines in the U.S." The crazy thing is: most people outside of our area have never heard of them!

For wine makers to grow grapes successfully there needs to be a sort of "perfect storm" - the right soil combined with the right weather, both of which can be found in Caldwell's Snake River Valley. This combination is exactly what has made the vineyards and wineries of the region wildly successful in the past few years - largely contributing to Idaho's $169.3 million in local wine sales.

A few of the wine makers mentioned in the Travel + Leisure article include:

  • Bitner Vineyards
  • Koenig Vineyards
  • HAT Ranch Winery
  • Indian Creek Winery
  • SCORIA Vineyards and Winery
  • Hells Canyon Winery

And also a special shout out to:

By the way, Williamson is running a BOGO special on wine right now....Buy one case of red wine and get a select case of white wine for only one dollar...what a deal...and what a great way to say Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays
