Teachers are Saints. Their patience and passion for molding future generations isn't honored enough, in my opinion.

Last year, the Idaho Teacher of the Year honor was awarded to a Kindergarten teacher in Pocatello.

This year, Rebecca Mitchell, a teacher at Vision Charter School in Caldwell who has been teaching for about 20 years, received the honor.

As part of the award, she will receive $1,000 and the opportunity to travel around Idaho talking with other teachers, legislators and policymakers about education issues. Plus, she will get to travel to Washington D.C. in the spring to meet the President and represent Idaho in the National Teacher of the Year program!

Way to go Ms. Mitchell!
