When the organizers of the Idaho Wine Run folded as a company, people who had the race on their calendar were devastated.  A year later, they've got a new wine run to look forward to and it'll give participants a chance experience Idaho's vineyards like never before!

The new local race company, Our Stride LLC, was founded by a group of friends who love the Boise running scene and were bummed to see races that rewarded participants with medals regardless of their pace or finishing position disappear when the other race company had reached its finish line.  After months of brainstorming and planning, they're hosting their first event on Saturday, September 7!

The Bottoms Up Blitz at Indian Creek Winery in Kuna offers participants to walk, run, hobble or crawl through a 5K, 10K or Half Marathon Course before toasting their achievement with samples of some of the best wines Idaho has to offer. Each finisher will receive a medal, Bottoms Up Blitz wine glass and wine sampling with their registration. (Participants under 21 or those who don't plan on drinking can choose a drink tumbler instead.)

There are two things that make this race unique from other wine races the Treasure Valley has experienced in the past: the course actually takes you into the vineyards, not just around them AND there's a 0K option.

That's right. For people like my hubby who hate running so much that they won't even do it for wine, you can pick the 0K option and go straight to wine sampling for just $5.

Prices for the other events are as follows and you can register for them by clicking here:

  • 5K: $30
  • 10K: $40
  • Half Marathon: $50
