Another Treasure Valley Food Truck Gets Brick and Mortar Location
Looking for a snack before hitting the river during float season or a cold one to refresh yourself after a summer bike ride on the Greenbelt? Look no further than Barber Valley!
Cross over the Parkcenter bridge just beyond Bown Crossing and you'll notice how much things have changed in Southeast Boise over the last decade. From new construction of single family homes and apartments to re-working parts of the Boise Greenbelt to opening a new fire station, things have certainly evolved in the Barber Valley area...but as our friend Don at BoiseDev pointed out, the one thing that hasn't? The amount of dining options in the area.
Despite the growing number of residents in the area, Barber Valley's lost more restaurants than its opened. When Ben's Crow Inn closed in 2016, Lucky 13 became the only real dining option in the area. That's about to change thanks to the masterminds behind food truck, Sushi Shack and local brewery, Lost Grove Brewing.
The two companies expanding their relationship into a joint project called "Lost Shack Sushi Bar + Tasting Room" on Eckert Rd. near Lucky 13. They hope that the sushi and beer bar is a concept that will draw in people getting ready to float the river, coming back from Lucky Peak or enjoying the Greenbelt.
The projected opening date is in early August. It will be located next to the next location for The STIL ice cream shop that's currently under construction in Southeast Boise. Sushi Shack joins a growing list of food trucks that have opened brick and mortar locations in the Treasure Valley. Mad Mac, Coned and KupBop are among a few of the others.
