Zac Efron Transforms for New Role as Serial Killer
Zac Efron was just a teen when he made it big time with Disney's High School Musical films over 10 years ago. In recent years it seems like he's been everywhere - in some of my favorite comedies (Neighbors, Mike & Dave Need Wedding Dates, & Baywatch) and in The Greatest Showman alongside Hugh Jackman this winter. Earlier this month, Efron took to social media with an announcement. He's transforming into a character for a new movie unlike any he's ever portrayed before.
Efron's post was a simple black and white photo showing a behind the scenes look at Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile. His caption says "Meet Ted."
As in Ted BUNDY.
No longer the singing, dancing, basketball playing high schooler we once knew, Efron is currently in the midst of acting as one of the world's most feared serial killers.
Ted Bundy spent more than a decade on a murderous spree that spanned the continental US, mostly during the 1970s, later confessing to more than 30 homicides before his execution in 1989. In one of his final interviews before his death he even admitted to killing two people in Idaho - Lynette Dawn Culver of Pocatello and an unknown hitch-hiker he picked up in Boise.
One things for sure - Zac's certainly come a long way since his High School Musical days. His co-stars for Extremely Wicked include Academy Award nominee John Malkovich and Lily Collins who will play Bundy's longtime girlfriend, Elizabeth Kloepfer. A release date for the film has not been scheduled at this time.
