You Should Know About the 2-1-1 Idaho CareLine
Sometimes you just don't know where to go in life, quite metaphorically and literally speaking. Thankfully there is a resource just for that. With May being Mental Health Awareness I would like to share with you a tool that I think may be underutilized in our community: The 2-1-1 Idaho CareLine.
The 2-1-1 Idaho CareLine is a free, statewide, community information and referral service and is under the coordination of the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare. It's basically like a database of local human and social programs and services that are offered for free or at a very low cost.
While we may be aware that there ARE resources available, it can be a challenge in itself trying to find out where they are. The 2-1-1 Idaho CareLine is there to guide you with this.
Idahoans can receive information on where to go regarding a handful of things such as rental assistance, mental health, medical assistance, food and clothing, child care resources, emergency shelter, and more. If you have general questions about any of these services, the 2-1-1 line is great place to start.
You can find resources and utilize this service in three different ways: Text 989211 to get information from a 2-1-1 community resource specialist, by calling 2-1-1 or 800-926-2588 to get information from a 2-1-1, or by searching the database online for available resources.
I really encourage you to take advantage of help when you need it. These resources exist for that very reason and it should never be a struggle not knowing where to go for the best help that's readily available to you.
