Do you get stressed about taxes?  All those numbers can get confusing, but we plow through anyway with the hope of a refund.

And this year, the odds are in your favor that you won't get audited by the IRS.  But why?

Just like a lot of businesses and agencies, the IRS has gone through some budget cuts and they're left with fewer auditors these days.  In fact, only 1 percent of tax returns were audited last year.  (That's still 1.2 million!)  Most likely you won't face an audit this time around.

Not that you would cheat on your taxes or anything.  It's just a pain to face an audit and produce all that paperwork, and this year the rate of audits will be the lowest in a decade.

MSN says there's something else that may happen because of the smaller IRS staff: About half of the people who call the IRS this year for help in their taxes won't be able to get through to a live person.  Good times!  Happy filing.
