Do You Live Near One Of Idaho’s Worst Roads To Drive In The Snow?
We've managed to get through December without much snow. In fact, the Boise snowfall total for the first part of the winter is almost 4 inches behind where it is supposed to be. Does that mean we'll get away with an easy-to-manage winter? Probably not. We should make up for that lack of snow in the next few weeks.
Temperatures are about to get much colder, and that means that when it snows, it's going to stick, and it's probably going to be around for a while. When the snow sticks, we get those winter driving conditions that make ex-Californians wonder why they moved here. It makes real Idahoans tell you that the roads would be fine without these ex-Californians who don't know how to drive in the snow.
Regardless of where you came from or how long you've been here, driving in the snow is something that we all have to do. We compiled a list of roads no one likes to drive on in the snow. For some reason, these roads are the ones that have the most accidents, accumulate the most ice, or the most traffic on those cold, snowy days when we'd all rather be home watching our favorite Netflix show on the couch next to the fireplace.
We didn't ask IDOT for their input on this list because we wanted real answers from people who drive these roads every day. The streets with a ton of traffic are less likely to make the list because those roads are taken care of first. Plus, with the number of cars on those streets, the problem spots are only nasty in the early morning or late evening when they are re-frozen.
