Prepare to spend the weekend snuggled up indoors or on a mountain hitting the slops - whichever best suits your desires as the snow begins to fall here in the Treasure Valley. We received the first little taste of it on Thursday but there's more snow to come today and on Saturday causing a Winter Weather Advisory to be in effect.

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued from 11 p.m. Friday to 11 p.m. Saturday in parts of the Treasure Valley and the western Magic Valley. A Winter Weather Advisory also remains in effect until 5 p.m. Friday in the West Central Mountains and Boise Mountains, according to the National Weather Service.

Expect more snow than rain throughout the day on Friday here in the valley. There could be as much as two to four inches covering the ground as we move into Saturday! Higher elevations can expect accumulations of four to eight inches, and up to 10 inches above 6,000 feet.

With snowy weather also comes colder temps. The temperatures will be dropping into the 30s as we go into the weekend. I'm not going to lie, coming from Indiana I'm used to days with highs of 20 degrees during this time of year so the mild winter we've been experiencing in Boise has been more than appreciated from my perspective.

A Winter Weather Advisory being in effect also means that road conditions must be considered if traveling this weekend. It is advised that drivers are prepared for snow-covered roads and limited visibilities and are also urged to use caution while driving.
