For residents of Boise, if you'd like some tasty garlic parmesan wings, you've had to drive to Meridian or Nampa but now Wingstop is getting set to open a prime Boise location.

Wingstop has become quite the American national treasure when it comes to wings. Buffalo Wild Wings is arguably their biggest chain-style competitor but these two restaurants are drastically different and, in my opinion, shouldn't be treated as competitors. Buffalo Wild Wings has a few Treasure Valley locations including a beautiful downtown one, which is my favorite, along with an excellent menu carrying an incredible variety of flavors. But Buffalo Wild Wings is where you go to sit down, have a beer, eat some wings and watch sports. Wingstop has more of a fast casual, pop in for a quick bite or take it to go kind of vibe.

According to The Idaho Statesmen, Wingstop is planning to open it's first location in Boise proper, on the Southwest corner of Fairview and Milwaukee (1575 N. Milwaukee St.) in the space that was previously occupied by Sub Zero Ice Cream. It's a bummer that the ice cream shop is no longer but exciting news for Boise wing fans who don't feel like making the drive to Wingstop's now second closest location, in Meridian on Eagle Rd. just North of Ustick in the Lowes shopping center. Of course there's also the Nampa location just off of Greenhurst and 12th Ave.

Whatever the case, if you're a wing fan you've probably enjoyed Wingstop a time or two in your life. Pick your favorite flavor and your favorite Treasure Valley location and enjoy!
